Gas springs which include a valve in the cylinder
base plate are fitted with screw-on end fittings on
the cylinder end, except the type G 20-40.

On Tension springs the valve section is on the
piston rod end.

The valve is normally included in the middle of the
threaded end and is released by means of a small
pin or nail and a lightweight hammer/mallet.

Light strokes of the hammer/ mallet should be made,
as prolonged depressing of the valve will cause too
much nitrogen to escape.
